Editing Tear Sheets
Below are a few of the pages I did the photo editing for. Beyond working with the photographers on assignment, I worked in archives finding images, used wire services when necessary, talked with reporters and editors to find the right images for their stories and collaborated with designers on layout and design.
After noticing the team in Japan sending images of motion blurs, Sports Illustrated Photo Editor, Abigail Nicolas and I came up with an idea. We created a photo gallery of motion blurs from the Tokyo Olympics. We chose images from the takes sent to us for the gallery, toned all of them and put them on the SI website and @sifullframe Instagram account.
I did not choose the images specifically, but I worked with the editor and photographer to decide which images were the most important and I worked with the print designer to decide the layout.
I searched through the Missourian archives to find images for the First Pitches story.
I worked with a staff photographer to cover the graduation, made sure they were staying safe and helped them figure out what was important to focus on.
I worked with staff photographers, freelance photographers in the area and wire images to create a complete package about the events of the George Floyd protests during the 2020 summer in Missouri.
I worked with photographers, both freelance and staff, to ensure they were staying safe and getting all the images we needed to tell a complete story. I also worked with the print designers to create a double truck and interesting layout.
